Eat fresh when the weather's fresh!

We’re delighted to welcome our friend Serna from Raw Works back to Leafy Greens. Join her for a cooking class with a difference – there’s very little cooking involved! Learn how to include raw and vegan foods in your diet as you prepare for winter.

Here in Gauteng, we’re lucky that our winters are not very severe at all. Nevertheless, the colder weather can be a challenge for our bodies, with the need to keep warm in the mornings and at night, and those nasty cold and flu bugs being passed around.

By following the 50:50 or 60:40 rules (that is, adding raw, vegan foods to your cooked meals, and vice versa) you’ll benefit from an increase in enzymes and antioxidants that will make your body not just warmer but stronger, and better able to fight off any infections that you encounter.

Serna will be discussing warming herbs and spices and walking you through some of her favourite raw and vegan recipes, including raw soup and raw chia seed jam. The other side of 50:50 will be represented too, through such irresistible dishes as protein fudge balls (served with a cup of warming tea that will make your toes tingle) and spanakopita on steamed sweet potato.

Armed with this heartwarming knowledge, you’ll be able to give flu a frosty reception this winter while you’re enjoying buckwheat breakfast porridge and Serna’s simply delicious pancakes, or replacing pasta with spiralised vegetables.

"You can live life 100% if you apply the 50:50 rule"

Ticket price includes a freshly squeezed juice on arrival and a delicious, nutritious Leafy Greens brunch during the day. Participants will get a 10% discount in the Leafy Greens Shop (excluding equipment) on the day. Please email to book your place.
